OneMBA is a program for global leaders Print E-mail

The companies wishing world success, voluntary refuse from the workers. They however, do this temporarily - employees go to business schools, promise to return with new knowledge and to turn the world upside down.

Every day the Earth decreases. The international trade dissolving borders of the countries and cities becomes more active. Accordingly, corporations feel need for the managers capable think globally more and more. Therefore it is not surprising, that MBA starts to get the international shade - business schools instantly react to the slightest wishes from consumers.

However only some schools look ahead much further and offer mega-global programs. One of such schools is Rotterdam Management School (RSM) which offers global EMBA under symbolical name OneMBA. The program is based at participation of four more partners: Kenan-Flagler Business School (Northern Carolina), the EGADE-ITESM school (Monterrey, Mexico), the Getulio Vargas school (the Dignity-paolo, Brazil) and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. On the third year of existence the program totals about 20 students who are trained, according to Diana Bevelander's words (directors of MBA of the program in RSM), to operate and be competitive worldwide. The 21-month's program begins in September. One week passes in Washington, three others  depending on features of an audience. Europeans, for example, gather in Rotterdam or Gdansk. Their purpose is to compare two projects from the beginning up to the end. Such session can last till 12 weeks.

The program is directed on people with the big administrative experience. Such people have reached almost top of a career ladder in enough large corporations. Rotterdam insists at least on 6 years of administrative experience, an average student have experience of 11 years.
As well as majority of MBA, a course is to cover the key disciplines - the finance, marketing, accounts departments and human resources. Distinction only is that in the given program global approach is used in all.

Naturally, presence of base knowledge of management is necessarily. «Perhaps, we do not discover something new in the theory, but we do this knowledge global», - tells Bevelander. On an extent of training students work in teams - both with colleagues on "alma mater" university, and with representatives of all four universities-partners. For dialogue all means are good: an audience, the Internet, conference-communication and other information-technical innovations. Thus there is an enormous exchange of experience and ideas.

Similar courses gradually become a habit for the American business schools. The similar program is offered by London Business School together with Columbia Business School. The program carries name EMBA-Global.

Other example of successful association - Trium Global Executive MBA - product of LSE (London), Stern School of Business (New York) and HEC School of Management (Paris).
